certified teacherCheryl Henley, co-founder and owner of Wild Onion Yoga. Cheryl has been a certified teacher in the Iyengar tradition since 1987, with 36 years of practice and 26 years of teaching experience. She has studied on numerous occasions at the Ramamani Iyengar  Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India and has been featured ontwo network television news broadcasts. Cheryl is a devoted student, teacher, wife, mother, and gardener. Her purpose in establishing a yoga center is to serve the community by providing alternatives for a healthier lifestyle.

Wild Onion Yoga

Wild Onion Yoga began in October of 1990. The name is derived from the Potawatomi Indian word Che-cau-gou (Chicago), meaning place of the smelly onion. Before the European settlers arrived and developed the wetland, prairie, and forest, wild onionsgrew here in pungent abundance. 

Wild Onion Yoga does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race or ability to pay.
